Introduction

Sports and patriotism are two sides of a coin. But Veterans India Sport Wing is going to revolutionize the concept by optimally connecting both to the highest level to nurture the organic growth of this country. Sports will find its place for sportsmanship by heart and character and respect for Nation. The only qualification to participate must be “Indian”. No cast, No creed, No religion, No politics and No abstract boundaries of federation. Will be everyone’s forum. Love for Legends, place of respect for olds, motivation for those who love sports and ready to nurture the young’s to take charge of Nation building. Lesson of Patriotism will start from the field. Aim

Veterans India is a Tri-services Ex-Servicemen Patriotic organization which is trying to spread patriotism and Nationalism across the nation through different measures. Sports Wing is one of such wing of Veterans India, which is trying to create and nurture Nationalism and Patriotism through sports among the citizens of India mostly the Youth. “Veterans India” is an organization of Veterans led by Ex-servicemen was established in 2015. Because of the endless effort put in by founder and his team today it has expanded to almost all States, Districts and even Block levels of Country.

Vision

The main vision was to unite the Veterans (Ex-Servicemen) of all three services of the union of India to utilise their potential in Nation building and the mission was to channelize the potential of Veterans to initiate a movement to create a nationalistic society by inculcating patriotism, nationalism and integrity amongst citizens in general and youth and children in particular.

Mission

Taking the mission of Veterans India to next level, Veterans India has established a Sports Wing on November 2018 and entrusted a Veteran Ex-servicemen Sportsman of International Repute Dr Ashok Kumar Lenka, to look after the Wing. With his foresightedness he has drafted a unique Corruption Free Sports Constitution with all importance being given to develop and teach patriotism amongst the youth and sportsman of country. The constitution was drafted under the able guidance of our Founder. The Sports Wing has divided India into 8 zones and the 36 states and UTs are incorporated with finest structure till Block and Taluk Level for finest execution sports and Talent acquisition from the grass root level.

Execution

The expansion so far could reach to almost 30 states & UTs with 08 Zones. The VI Sports Wing has taken up 16 Olympic and 05 Non-Olympic Sports and 01 Traditional/Tribal (Village) Sports from every State. This makes total to 22 Disciplines. The Structure appointments are done with Veteran sportsman from 22 incorporated sports starting from National Level, Zone Level, State level, District Level, Block/Taluk Level Body. Every level is accommodated with Veteran retired sportsman/coach/managers of govt/private institutions in Advisory Body. All Olympic / Commonwealth / Asian / Awardees are taken into VI Sports Wing Patrons. The VI sports wing is working day and night to pick unseen talents of India from remotest part of our country. It will work for Fitness, sportsmanship and nation building among all section of India.

Comparison with Traditional

The Constitution was made looking at the lacunae of present scenario of failure of sports and its federation, their federation casteism and geographical diversity of India. Even we have given highest priority in the constitution for stopping the deterioration of National ethos among players and the federation. It is obvious to Sports Ministry that neither the federation nor the IOA nor the SAI is reaching to 130 Crores population of India and that to now India is having the highest percentage of Youth.

Quality is Paramount

The approach will be keeping low/ no burden on Athlete by mobilizing fund for Nation building from corporate, govt and different social organizations for talent Identification from Block Level till National and then Talent Nurturing through VI establishments etc. No/Nil partiality principle, good quality food, accommodation, good equipment, safe environment, nil discrepancy rule will be paramount with VI Ex-Servicemen Veterans Sports Observers. Let’s Teach Patriotism

To strengthen VISW slogan “Rastra Bhakti Khel Se Shakti” a national movement along Sports has to be created among the youth so that the Patriotic brigade can be formed across India. The ethos and line of teaching will be “Desh Sarbopari”. Veterans India Sports Wing will celebrate every level of Championships and events like Independence Day and Republic Day with Real Frontiers Heroes of India as Chief Guests. Every evening will screen life story of Olympians/ star sportsman’s/ brave hearts of India. The atmosphere around will be a Fair of Patriotism. The environment will be created keeping in view the Nationalism and Patriotism as highest priority.

Sought of Support from Govt

This Sports wing of Veterans India has been initiated by kind consent and advise of Honorable Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh. As we go ahead with talent identification with our sports wing we at Veterans India wish to give a career graph to talented and identified sportsman of India. Our humble request to your kind office to consider the following proposal for our talented sportsman picked up by our Veterans India Sports Panel:

• (a) The talent Identified sportsman at District/State/Country level may be absorbed in the three services sports training institutions for further training.
• (b) A job may be guaranteed in the defense force according to their level education and sports.
• (c) Initially they could be recruited as Sportsman and later they can serve as services Coach too.
• (d) By assuring them the Job in Services the commitment to sports will increase and definitely they will medal prospect for country.
• (e) Those who will not able to perform great may be assured a normal job in services.
